Child and Adolescent therapy in sykesville, maryland
let’s be honest:
When your child is struggling, peace at home can feel out of reach.
Big emotions, meltdowns, anxiety, or withdrawal can ripple through the whole family, making even the simplest moments feel overwhelming. You want to help but nothing seems to work - and it’s exhausting. That’s where we come in. Through play based therapy, we help kids and teens make sense of their inner world, build emotional tools, and feel safe being themselves so your family can breathe again.
We’re here to support you with…
managing big emotions
Improving communication
Trauma recovery
Challenging behaviors
Parent-child relationship

Your child is not trying to act out. And you’re not a bad parent.
Children simply process things differently than adults. Play therapy can help. Play is the language of children - it’s how they communicate, express themselves, and work through difficulties. Despite the name, play therapy isn’t simply just about toys or games. It is a structured, theoretically based approach to therapy that uses creative expression, prompts, and scenarios to help children share what’s going on inside of them and their world. Through these activities, they can safely explore and express what’s troubling them.
I am also here to support you, the caregiver, and equip your child with what they need to thrive outside of therapy.

Our Team
-
Therapy for children facing chronic illness or medical trauma provides a safe, supportive space to process the emotional impact of their health experiences. Whether a child is navigating a new diagnosis, enduring ongoing treatment, or coping with past medical events, therapy can help them express feelings they may not have words for—like fear, anger, or grief.
-
Therapy with neurodivergent children and adolescents—such as those with autism, ADHD, or sensory processing differences—is rooted in respect, flexibility, and genuine understanding. Rather than trying to “fix” or change who they are, therapy aims to support their unique ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to the world.
